Sepp Kuss, on tour in Spain
/Here is a very short but tasty slice of what actually happened in the controversial Vuelta a’ Espana this year, from the man who won it - Sepp Kuss.
ST: There was a lot of fan and pier support for you during the Vuelta, and from the outside it seemed like a cartoon style in fight, with Primoz Roglic as the reluctant villain. Was there a point where you noticed this a change in atmosphere, was it when it became clear you were in with a chance of winning overall?
SK; I think everyone was happy to see or help me win, but yeah, it’s hard, to in just one instance, with your personal ambitions, to decide (to race or not) and I realised that.
The atmosphere was good, but there were some moments that were confusing or different, especially when you step back and look at them from, say, the perspective of a fan watching on TV. But, those things happen so quickly in a race and it’s hard to rectify those in a moment.
Overall it’s especially hard to change the physchie of riders in one moment, to change their goals and desires.
