The village people
/Much of the rugged, mountainous and jungle clad region of the Golden Triangle is home to various hilltribe communities. These are colourful people who have been forced by circumstance to make their homes in these untamed lands for decades.
Visitors in "true' tribal areas are often viewed with suspicion, and with good reason. The Hmong are one of the largest of the tribal groups. Here are a couple of 360 degree images and a couple more stills to give you a sense of how the people live. Given that these were taken during the daytime there are not many people around (they're out working the fields). There's an image of an older man, who was sat in the doorway smoking his bamboo pipe, while his granddaughter looked on in bewilderment at me.
