Since the get-go (which was a way back), as the Americans say, I’ve always been a practitioner of self-photography, out of necessity and practical reasons over narcissism - in fact, I hate seeing myself in pictures and hearing my own voice in videos and podcasts. But, for me it becomes ever-more essential to be able to shoot myself (as such) in action, as I simply do not have easy access to models or athletes - which, sadly is still what people and publications want; pretty, clean and perfect people on perfect bikes, selling the dream….
Anyway, here is a single shot from a few days ago, captured in infrared on a Fuji XE2 converted camera. I’ve been shooting IR and this way for a while now, and it’s certainly not for mainstream or social media taste buds, and capturing such images in the mid-day tropical heat whilst carrying gear, while being “hounded” by sun-dazed dogs, well, lets say it took a while - weeks.
