To be honest I have no real idea what was going on here, as it was a little while after Chinese New Year (last week), and was also only the second time in a few years that I’d seen this particular temple illuminated and something going on.
After weeks, months, or even years of roaming the streets at dusk and capturing the magic of that crazy hour, I’d all but resigned myself to a dead night crawl, but then I stumbled across this, in the last throws of sundown and without a full sized tripod or the gear that YouTubers tell you is needed, ahem. Anyway, from a Fuji X100T on a broken Gorillapod perched on a motorcycle, certainly not by chance and far from lucky, tho - dare I say it - a result of long-term visualization and awareness of light, timing and conditions, okay, and a bit of luck too.
